The Victorian Association of Performing Arts Centres has been working on an Industry Development Initiative which aims to establish a strategic framework supporting technical workforce development within Victoria’s performing arts sector.
This initiative comes in response to the chronic shortage of technical staff in the sector following the major workforce disruptions experienced since the beginning of the global pandemic. It will bring together leaders and stakeholders from across the arts and education sectors, government at all levels, and industry professionals with first-hand experience of this crisis.
Key to these initiatives is that they present opportunities for government collaboration and investment, serving as a model that could be piloted within our network and replicated nationwide.
